Steve Martin Teaches Colbert How to Be a Comic Genius
On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Colbert toyed with the idea of signing up for Steve Martin‘s online master comedy class. After Martin lured him in with the promise of learning about the comedic gold within consonants (read: kaka), Colbert was all ears. All Martin needed was a credit card number and just a few more things … like Stephen’s social security number, his mother’s maiden name, the name of his first pet, and, of course, a urine sample. Fortunately, Colbert had a urine sample in his desk drawer ready to go.
Colbert opted for the deluxe, in-person package and turned out to be a quick study. Martin transformed Colbert from a dull dimwit to a comic genius with a few tips on how to hold his elbow and what words really pack a verbal punch.
