‘SNL’: Our Favorite Bobby Moynihan Moments
After nine hilarious seasons on Saturday Night Live, Bobby Moynihan is heading elsewhere. The actor is set to star in the new comedy Me, Myself & I premiering this fall on CBS. Moynihan brought to SNL some classic original characters as well as impressions of some of America’s most famous, and infamous, people.
A couple of his best original characters made regular appearances on “Weekend Update”: Drunk Uncle and Anthony Crispino. Drunk Uncle would appear with a glass of Scotch and slur his way from subject to subject, whatever happened to be bothering him at the moment. He’d even occasionally break out into song.
Anthony Crispino appeared on “Weekend Update” as its secondhand news correspondent to report on, you guessed it, secondhand news. Most of it was hilariously nonsensical, but don’t try telling Crispino that what he’s saying isn’t correct. You’ll only end up hearing a high-pitched rebuttal.
Moynihan’s impressions included real-life characters from the world of politics, entertainment, and whatever you want to call Jersey Shore. He played New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, celebrity chef Guy Fieri, Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, and even reality TV star Snooki.
We wish Moynihan the best and will miss his particular brand of humor on SNL.
