Golden Globes: Relive Ricky Gervais's Best Burns
The next time you think about inviting Ricky Gervais to a party, just remember that he’s not the most gracious guest. But that’s also why he’s the ideal person to host the Golden Globes, a.k.a. Hollywood’s Biggest Party: the British comedian has no qualms about dishing out burns to the town’s assembled glitterati. Gervais returns to the Globes stage on Jan. 10 for his fourth stint as emcee and the first person brave enough to follow Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s three-year reign of hilarity.

In honor of his return, we’ve assembled a highlights reel of his best jokes — or, at least, the best jokes at Hollywood’s expense — for his previous three hosting gigs. Watch as he introduces Bruce Willis as “Ashton Kutcher’s dad,” compliments the town’s cosmetic surgeons for all their fine work, asks Johnny Depp whether he’s even seen the critically-lambasted, but Golden Globe-nominated The Tourist, and gets totally served by Robert Downey Jr.
