‘The Late Show’ Inserts Sean Spicer Into Soap Operas as Worst Guy Ever
It was recently reported in the Washington Post that president Trump will not fire White House press secretary Sean Spicer, because he gets great ratings, likening him to daytime soap operas. So in response, the good people of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took it upon themselves to insert Spicer into soaps. Naturally, they called it The Bold & The Babbling.
Each clip was of a woman from a soap saying that she’s pregnant, followed by Spicer giving responses at a press conference, none of which would be considered acceptable by any decent person if these responses were to actual news of a pregnancy.
In The Bold & The Babbling, Spicer’s reactions to pregnancy news included “I mean, that’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.” That was followed by “This was irresponsible and reckless. At some point, April, you’re gonna have to take ‘no’ for an answer.”
But The Late Show wasn’t going to let Spicer have the last word. The Bold & The Babbling ended with him being called a cold-hearted, backstabbing liar.
