Helen Hunt Reveals She Was ‘Madly In Love’ With Rick Springfield, Left a Note On His Car
On Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Oscar and Emmy winning actress Helen Hunt revealed the huge crush she had on actor/pop star Rick Springfield in the early 1980s. In fact, to say it was a crush might be putting it lightly.
“He wouldn’t date me, but I was madly in love with Rick Springfield,” Hunt said, before confiding, “I left a note on his car.”
Hunt had the opportunity to leave the note on his car because, as fate would have it, both she and Springfield were filming on the ABC lot. Hunt was working on the short-lived sitcom It Takes Two, Springfield on the long-running soap opera General Hospital, on which he played the dreamy Dr. Noah Drake. At the time, Springfield was also at the height of his pop stardom with the recent release of the mega-hit song “Jessie’s Girl.”
Unfortunately for Hunt, it wasn’t meant to be. She said he never called.
