While creators Robert and Michelle King have said they will exit The Good Wife at the end of its current season, CBS has not clarified whether that means it will be the end for Alicia Florrick and Co. or not.

Yahoo spoke with Alan Cumming, who plays political operative Eli Gold on The Good Wife, about his future with the CBS drama.

“I’m feeling great about it,” Cumming says. “I mean obviously every year on a television show like this you don’t know what’s going to happen, so I’m very excited about the fact that the Kings, they’re giving the show a kind of an arc that is… it could go on. I’m not sure if it will go on after this season, but they’re bringing it to some sort of conclusion in terms of what they wanted to do with the story and the characters. I like the fact that they are leaving it with an arc, and whether or not it goes on with a new showrunner I don’t know. As the dates go by I am excited about the future.”

Previously, Julianna Margulies teased that she’ll be “unemployed come April,” hinting that she’d be leaving the show with the Kings, though that has not been confirmed.

The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
