Don Lemon addresses move to morning show: 'I was not demoted'
On Don Lemon Tonight Thursday, Lemon kicked things off by addressing his move later this year to host a morning show at CNN, alongside Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. New CNN head Chris Licht, who asked Lemon if he’d be willing to make the move, has shaken things up at the network since taking over. “I was presented with an opportunity that I can’t pass up at this network,” Lemon said. “And we have a new boss who is a morning show impresario, and he wants a morning show that will kick off the editorial direction of the network every single day, and I am honored that he would ask me to do it.” Lemon also said that, despite what some are saying, this was his choice. “For all of those who are out there saying, oh, he moved me, and without my — he asked me and I said yes. I could have said no,” Lemon said. “This is my show. I have a contract for this show. I decided that I would take him up on that and take this journey with him.” And Lemon discounted all the online noise about his move, and the direction of the network. “This is not someone moving me. And by the way, this is not someone saying, ‘You must move to the right, Don Lemon. And you must not be so — give so much of your perspective.’ None of that has happened,” Lemon said. “All of that is fodder for Twitter, which is not real. So stop it. I was not demoted, none of that. This is an opportunity. This is a promotion.”

CNN panel stunned after AG Barr compares COVID lockdowns to slavery
A CNN panel was left speechless, briefly, after hearing remarks Attorney General William Barr had made earlier in the evening. Speaking at Hillsdale College in Michigan, Barr made a comparison between slavery and the lockdowns due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, calling the lockdowns an intrusion on civil liberties. Once they could find the words, the panel poked very large holes in Barr’s argument, from the fact that slaves first had to be free before they could even think about civil rights, and that Americans weren’t forced to stay in their homes. People could leave the house for essential tasks. And Dr. Sanjay Gupta worried that Barr’s assertion could take the country in the wrong direction when it comes to the fight against the coronavirus.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins says asking Trump about 'demon sex' doctor 'took the cake'
CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers Thursday night, along with Dana Bash and Kyung Lah, where she spoke about what it was like to ask President Trump about his support for a doctor who believes in demon sex at a recent coronavirus press briefing. After hearing Dr. Stella Immanuel endorse hydroxychloroquine as a cure for the coronavirus, despite multiple studies pointing to the contrary, Trump spoke in support of Dr. Immanuel. He was unaware that in the past she has also talked about women being impregnated in their sleep by demons, alien DNA being used in medical treatments, a vaccine to stop people from becoming religious, and reptilians and other aliens being part of our government.

Trump Abruptly Ends Coronavirus Briefing After Tense Exchange With CBS, CNN Reporters
President Donald Trump abruptly walked out of his own coronavirus briefing on Monday, refusing to answer any more questions, after a tense exchange with CBS’ Weijia Jiang and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.During the Q&A portion of the press conference, Jiang asked Trump why testing in the U.S. was akin to a “global competition” for the president.“You’ve said many times that the U.S. is doing far better than any other country when it comes to testing. Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if every day Americans are still losing their lives and we’re still seeing more cases every day?” Jiang asked.“Well, they’re losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that’s a question you should ask China. Don’t ask me, ask China that question. When you ask them that question, you might get a very unusual question,” Trump said before pointing to a reporter behind Jiang. Also Read: White House Requires Staff to Wear Masks in West WingBefore another question was asked, Jiang — who is Asian American — asked Trump why he “specifically” told her to “ask China.”“I’m not saying it specifically to anybody.
