John Legend surprises 'Voice' teammates with two-time Grammy-winning singer Jazmine Sullivan
The battle rounds have begun on The Voice and, on Tuesday, John Legend surprised two of his singers, Dia Malai and Valerie Harding, when he revealed the artist behind the song they were tasked to sing also happened to be this season's advisor for Team Legend. The song Legend chose for Malai and Harding was Jazmine Sullivan's hit song "Bust Your Windows." And while the two ladies were excited to tackle the powerful song, they were even more excited when Sullivan herself walked into the rehearsal room. "The fact that I had to sing her song in front of her... Almost lost my mind," said Malai. "I'm very excited just to do her proud." Sullivan shared, "Dia had a beautiful voice. I wasn't expecting for her to have, like, a growl at some points. And I feel like maybe with me being there, it kind of made her go a little harder." Both the ladies impressed the two-time Grammy award-winning R&B singer, but, following the Battle Round between Malai and Harding, the decision on who to save came down to Legend and, in the end, he picked Harding.

'Voice' fangirl goes 'off the rails' during audition after John Legend and Gwen Stefani turn for her
The blind auditions continued on The Voice Tuesday night with 17-year-old superfan Jillian Jordyn, who grew up watching the show and even brought along her prized vintage Voice-branded karaoke machine, which she has owned since she was 8 years old. "I don't know how I'm gonna contain myself," said Jillian. "I'm gonna be like, ah! I don't understand how people don't scream, like, how is that possible? I'm so excited to be here it doesn't even feel real." However, during all those years of dreaming about finally being on The Voice, nothing prepared her for the moment when coaches Gwen Stefani and John Legend turned their red chairs. Gwen and John turned for Jillian really early in the performance. Almost too early, because as soon as they did, Jillian was what John described as "shook." "I told myself I wouldn't do that," Jillian giggled. Gwen told the young contestant, "It started off so strong. When we turned around, it got a little bit off the rails," but she gave her some credit, as she told her, "That's because you've probably never been on TV before, right? You're 17 years old, and it's a lot. And this show is gonna be a lot, but I'm here to help you out." Despite Jillian's performance of Julia Michaels's song "Issues" having some issues, Gwen and John were still excited about her and, ultimately, Jillian joined Team Gwen, who actually brought on Julia Michaels as an advisor in Season 19, so it was the perfect fit. "Jillian, she's so young. She's ready to be molded. She's so confident and knows exactly what she wants to do," said Gwen.
Blake Shelton welcomes Camila Cabello to 'The Voice' by muting her microphone
Season 22 of The Voice got off to a quiet start Monday thanks to Blake Shelton welcoming new coach Camila Cabello with a new mute button. While Camila is new to the show, she still has a lot of experience. She was an advisor for Team John Legend last season, and got her start as part of the group Fifth Harmony on The X-Factor, so she wasn't gonna let Blake's shenanigans get to her. After Blake muted her mic, Camila tried yelling to the contestant, Kate Kalvach, then borrowed the Kalvacht's mic, which Blake also muted. Camila's "bestie" John Legend tried helping her out by letting her talk into his mic, but wouldn't you know it, Blake's mute button seemingly can mute any mic in the studio. Camila eventually prevailed and finished her plea to Kalvach. Ultimately, Blake's little tricks may have backfired. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, so we don't know who Kalvach picked as her coach, but while Blake was focused on shenanigans like struggling to bring out a goat, Kalvach was focused on Blake's lack of focus on her. "Blake was my first choice, but he didn't even fight for me," Kalvach said. So we'll find out Tuesday if Blake gets muted by Kalvach.
