Vivienne Westwood's NSFW Accessory

When we last left Vivienne Westwood, she was urging American art students to revolt against police, world banks, and feminists. (Really.)
Today, punk rock’s sovereign mother has a very different message: get spiritual and obey thy husband. Well, really her husband, Andreas Kronthaler.
“We’re consolidating our lines for the future,” Westwood told reporters backstage in Paris, where the first Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood collection debuted. “It’s going to be better for the environment, because we’ll be producing less clothes.”
Those clothes include pieces inspired by Sharon Lish, a former design assistant who became a Buddhist nun. That might explain several red robes, a saffron pantsuit, and the word OM spelled out on a veil. A dress made from a child’s old Christmas Tree costume hit marks for sustainability, innovation, and the Buddhist reverence towards nature. And while a super-fun vinyl poncho didn’t scream “zen,” it sure will enlighten the street style game next season
As for the heavy gold penis chokers on several girls, were they an homage to the labels’ new man power? All we heard from Dame Westwood was this: “It’s very difficult to work with Andreas. He has to have his way all the time.”
Perhaps it’s best not to probe any further.
Wonderful show, Mr. and Mrs. Westwood-Krothaler! Congratulations!
