Laverne Cox, aka Miss Law & Order, Knows Her Prison Trivia

Babes Behind Bars—yes, it’s a real game. And yes, Yahoo Style’s editor-in-chief Joe Zee recruited the one and only Laverne Cox, of Orange Is The New Black, to play a few rounds. Cox had to guess why women like Zsa Zsa Gabor and Lil’ Kim were locked up in real life. And it turns out Cox, who plays jailbird Sophia Burset on the hit Netflix series, knows her stuff. She easily guessed which celebrity ended up behind bars for slapping a cop, tax evasion, or littering on a national highway.

So knowledgeable is the 31-year-old actress that Zee nicknames her “Miss Law and Order.”  Of Lil’ Kim, she says: “I followed that story. When Lil’ Kim was going behind bars there was a “countdown to lockdown”…I followed that.” And of the current  “babe behind bars” Real Housewife Theresa Giudice, Cox notes, “She’s actually at Danbury, which is the prison that inspired Orange Is the New Black.”
