Kate Winslet Dresses Like a Total Boss on her “Steve Jobs” Press Tour

Kate Winslet wears a Tom Ford sheath dress at the New York Film Festival’s “An Evening with Kate Winslet” event.
At last night’s event in her honor, Winslet wore Rupert Sanderson shoes, and a black sheath dress by the designer of choice for alpha types everywhere, Tom Ford.

Kate Winslet wears a black Valentino dress while promoting “Steve Jobs” at the 53rd New York Film Festival.
A far cry from her businesslike role as Steve Jobs’ business advisor Joanna Hoffman, Winslet wore a glamorous Valentino cocktail dress in businesslike black at the New York Film Fest.

Kate Winslet appears alongside “Steve Jobs” costars Michael Fassbender and Jeff Daniels at a film screening.
At a screening of the film for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (that’s Oscar folk to you and me), Winslet dressed up her dark skinny jeans and T-shirt with a tailored black blazer. Casual Friday outfit, anyone?
Steve Jobs isn’t out until this Friday, but already Kate Winslet’s earning Oscar buzz for her role as Jobs’ long-suffering advisor Joanna Hoffman. If you’ve seen the clips, you know her performance looks stellar. But the role also lets Winslet do three things that are more or less guaranteed Oscar bait: speak in a foreign accent, wrestle with talky Aaron Sorkin-penned dialog, and undergo a de-glamorizing physical transformation to (gasp!) brunette, while wearing unattractive period clothes. We’d be writing our acceptance speech already if we were her.
For the press tour, Winslet is back to her usual glowing self, and she’s even embracing a very #GirlBoss aesthetic of sheath dresses by power-designer Tom Ford, menswear-inspired suits, and a means-business black palette. Click ahead for our favorite looks. She’s Leaning In hard for that Oscar, y’all.
