Jolin Tsai is Taiwan's highest paid celeb
15 Nov – Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai has been named the highest-paid celebrity in Taiwan.
Jaynestars reported that the singer topped the list with TWD 741.5 million (app. USD 25.6 million) this year, with earnings coming from 21 commercials, 15 concert stages and 34 stage performances. The singer also gets her profits from the record sales of her latest album, "Muse".
Second place goes to singer Show Luo, who fell from his top spot this year due to the lack of concerts and only relied on his accumulated income from commercials, record sales and hosting gigs. However, the amount is still large enough, which is estimated to be TWD 623.1 million (app. USD 21.5 million).
Third place goes to Jay Chou, who has been consistently listed as one of Taiwan's highest-paid singers. The singer-producer landed at number three this year, with almost TWD 50 million behind Show Luo, at TWD 573 million (app. USD 19.8 million).
Meanwhile, American born singer-actor, Leehom Wang took the fourth spot with TWD 539.5 through commercials and his world tour and Canadian born Elva Hsiao came in fifth, with TWD 382.9 million through 11 commercials, 70 stage performances and her latest album, "I'm Ready".
