Jenna Dewan-Tatum Wants a Bruce Jenner T-Shirt
In what’s already a legendary TV broadcast, Bruce Jenner outed himself last night as both transgender and Republican–despite the political party’s continued push against LGBT rights and same-sex marriage.
We asked actresses at the White House Correspondents Dinner what they thought of Mr. Jenner’s two revelations. Here’s what they said:
Julie Bowen
“You know, I didn’t see his interview with Diane Sawyer because instead, I watched basketball last night. I watched the Wizards and the Clippers–the Clippers are my team, but since I’m in DC, I wanted to watch the Wizards, too. But today, I watched some of the interview, and I think Bruce Jenner is lovely. He looks like a lovely—he looks like he’ll be a lovely—I mean, why are we so fascinated by Bruce Jenner? I don’t know. I hope as in all things new, it becomes less interesting, because you should live like you wanna live and do what you wanna do. Who cares?… Oh, and the Clippers lost.”
Michelle Monaghan
“I think it’s a wonderful thing that he’s doing. It’s bigger than politics. God bless him on his journey. I know he’s inspiring a lot of people along the way.”
Jenna Dewan
“I caught up and I was blown away by him. I think it’s amazing that at any age, anyone can fully speak their truth. It’s incredible the amount of people he’s about to inspire and open minds and teach people to have compassion. You never know what’s happening and what struggles people are going through. Now that he’s free, I’m Team Bruce Jenner. Can we put this on a t-shirt? I want a Bruce Jenner t-shirt.”
Tracee Ellis Ross
“I thought he was not only charming but informative and brave and selfless. I’m very happy that it happened.”
Laverne Cox
“Oh dear, I have talked a lot about that tonight. I think I’m done. But I love Yahoo!”
