‘Insane’ Aubrey Plaza Wore the Exact Same Dress as Elizabeth Olsen to Their Film’s Premiere
If there’s one thing tabloid readers know, there’s nothing worse than showing up to a red carpet event in the same outfit as someone else. On Thursday night, Aubrey Plaza and her Ingrid Goes West co-star Elizabeth Olsen fought their way down the red carpet after Plaza showed up in the same exact Marc Jacobs dress as Olsen.
While it’s safe to assume the style sin was on purpose seeing as Plaza plays Olsen’s stalker in the film, the pair still played up their rage at being forced to wear twin outfits. “I don’t know how this happened, I guess we just … we have the same taste,” Plaza joked to the Associated Press. Olsen responded in character: “I cannot wait for this s*** to be over so I can lose that girl who is just insane. She’s insane.”
“I’m just so happy that we’re on the same page. Down to the shoes,” Plaza continued. “I think we’re just so alike that it’s weird.” When the two weren’t posing prom-style for photos, they came to blows over the styling “incident.”
But even a promotional stunt can’t get in the way of an Olsen’s fashion game. Once the red carpet was over, there was apparently no more need to continue matching. Plaza kept her dress on, but not to be outdone, Olsen changed into a simple black sheath for the after-party.
The big story out of the night may be about the film, but TV fans were also delighted to see a Parks and Recreation reunion on the red carpet. Chris Pratt, Plaza’s onscreen husband from the sitcom, came out to support his former castmate and pose for a few “couple” photos as April Ludgate and Andy Dwyer. The always glam Donna, aka Retta, also stopped by. Even Amy Poehler, the matriarch of Parks and Recreation, came out to support. Isn’t there something so heartwarming about seeing the old office back together?
Plaza even gave fans a glimmer of hope that a Parks and Recreation reunion may come about. “I hope so!” she said. “I feel that would for sure happen at some point.” In the meantime, she’s always got stalking.
