She might be married to one of the most famous actors in the world, but Amal Clooney just gave her first-ever TV interview to air stateside. The human rights lawyer sat down with Cynthia McFadden of NBC Nightly News to discuss the current political crisis in the Maldives (her client is former president Mohamed Nasheed). But McFadden would be remiss not to ask Mrs. Clooney about her new celebrity status. “I think it’s wonderful celebrities would choose to spend their time or energy or, you know, the spotlight that they have to raise awareness about these causes,” Amal said. But she insisted, “I don’t really see myself in the same way because I’m still doing the same job that I used to do before. If there’s more attention paid for whatever reason to that, then I think that’s good.”

According to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, George and Amal Clooney adopted a basset hound named Millie. To do so, George dressed down in jeans and a black T-shirt with his tequila company’s logo on it, while his wife wore a fancy dress — an Emanuel Ungaro star print piece ($1,337.72) — to get down and dirty with the new pup and Louie, the couple’s other dog. At least she wore sneakers!

Amal Clooney’s been one of John Galliano’s biggest supporters on the red carpet, and in Tokyo, at the premiere of “Tomorrowland,” the pairing proved to be a superb one yet again. The lawyer was lovely in a silk yellow gown with a floral bow. While the fabric can be unforgiving on many, the Maison Margiela number clings to her figure in all the right places. The high neckline with sweet flower adds an air of sophistication to an otherwise sexy look. With just a Bulgari clutch from the brand’s famous Serpent collection and gold bracelet, the simple accessorizing doesn’t overwhelm the already statement-making dress.
