Atlanta Braves' World Series champion joins Augusta this weekend. Here's what we know
There’s a big name coming to SRP Park this weekend.
Former Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Ian Anderson is set to make a rehab start with the Augusta GreenJackets. He’s slated to start Sunday’s 1:35 p.m. contest against the Charleston RiverDogs.
The third overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Anderson has 52 career big league starts under his belt. He’s 22-13 on the mound with a 3.97 ERA for his career and helped the Braves to the 2021 World Series title over the Houston Astros. His last major league appearance came in 2022.
Anderson made just one appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett in 2023 and has spent over a year recovering from a UCL tear. Prior to joining the GreenJackets, he tossed five innings over two appearances with the Braves’ Florida Complex League affiliate over the past couple of weeks.
Tickets for Sunday's game can be purchased at the GreenJackets' website.
