Wisconsin food chain serving burgers, cheese curds and custard plans Hope Mills location
Hope Mills has seen the addition of Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Jersey Mike’s in the last few years. Now, a Wisconsin-based fast-food chain known for butter burgers, frozen custard and cheese curds is planning a location in the town.
Site plans submitted to Hope Mills in late July show a Culver’s at 3320 S. Peak Drive, a vacant lot between a childcare center and a real estate office adjacent to Millstone Town Center.
On the 1.4-acre property, the plans show a 4,124-square-foot restaurant with a two-lane drive-thru and a patio with five tables.
Culver’s serves burgers made with fresh beef and buttery toasted buns and sides like crinkle-cut fries, onion rings, and most famously, Wisconsin cheese curds. The crispy, melty bites of yellow and white cheddar cheese curds sourced from The Badger State are battered and fried.
The chain offers frozen custard made daily, served by pint, sundae, cone, shake or blended with fruit, candy and cookie mix-ins.

Founded in 1984, the franchise has nearly 1,000 locations in 26 states, including those as far from its midwestern roots as Arizona, Florida and Texas.
There are 15 Culver’s stores in North Carolina, the closest of which is the Fuquay-Varina location.
In a recent poll about the food chains, grocery stores and cuisines that Fayetteville-area residents want the most, Culver’s placed No. 9. It was the third-highest ranked restaurant on the list, behind the Cheesecake Factory and L&L Hawaiian Barbecue.
