(WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding those riding an ATV or UTV that safety comes first when going out for a ride.
According to a social media post, so far, in 2024, 20 people died during ATV or UTV crashes, and there have been 73 non-fatal crashes. Additionally, last year, 95% of fatal ATV and UTV crash victims were not wearing a helmet.

“ATV/UTV safety starts at home,” read the social media post from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. “Talk with your family and friends about the importance of wearing safety equipment.”
The social media post went on to say that choosing not to wear safety equipment is often illegal and could change your life. Use your helmet and seatbelts—every trip, every time.
