The day started with Danielle learning about the history of the studios with President Rodney Hall. His dad, Rick Hall founded FAME and the building dates back to the early 1960s. That’s when artists such as Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett would come and record.
A lot of the artists would choose Muscle Shoals out of all places in the U.S. because they enjoyed working with Rick Hall and they could record R&B music there.
Rodney Hall, President, and Spencer Coats, Studio Manager showed us behind the scenes and let us check out Studio A and Studio B plus the new backstage tour which is also offered for fans today.
Announced first on News 19, Rodney Hall let us know about an event coming up at the Orion on October 5 which will be the studio’s 65th anniversary.
Hall showed us how the music is made by showing us the soundboard where so many popular artists have worked and continue to work to this day.
