Water conservation notices lifted across several parishes after Hurricane Francine
JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Residents in several parishes across Southeast Louisiana no longer need to conserve water following the impact of Hurricane Francine.
Francine made landfall in Terrebonne Parish on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
More than 300K Entergy Louisiana customers lost power after Hurricane Francine
After the storm, residents in several parishes were asked to conserve water by limiting non-essential activities like washing dishes and doing laundry.
On Friday, Sept. 13, Jefferson Parish officials said the Jefferson Parish sewer system is now fully functional, and there is “no need to conserve water usage” at this time.
Entergy Louisiana updates estimated power restoration timeline
Officials with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans also lifted its voluntary conservation notice, noting its system “has adequate pumping capacity.”
St. Charles Parish leaders announced that residents can resume normal sewer usage and its critical lift stations are operating normally.
