Watch as 74-year-old grandmother steals the show as a flower girl in Florida wedding
For guests at Kayleigh Bell-Nesi's wedding, they were awaiting a child to lead the bridal party as the flower girl. However, the crowd's breath was stolen by an unexpected star.
Rather than selecting a child for the trusted role, Kayleigh went in the opposite direction — instead choosing her 74-year-old grandmother, Carolann Bell.
Watch how this flower girl grandma makes her way down the aisle at her granddaughter's wedding.
Wedding guests for the St. Augustine wedding immediately broke into applause as Carolann stole the show, earning some excited chants and laughs with her flower girl performance. The grandmother took the role seriously as she flung pink petals over her head and throughout the aisle.
Kayleigh planned the surprise as a way to make sure her grandmother was a key part of her wedding, especially since Carolann is her only living grandparent.
Carolann and Kayleigh share a close bond, strengthened after the death of Carolann's husband. Kayleigh called her grandmother her best friend and she told ABC News that having her as the flower girl was "one of the best parts of her wedding."
She also added that she hopes people cherish their grandparents and find any moment to make them feel as special as they are to you.
