Venezuelan man wanted out of Colorado arrested at Peace Bridge
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Venezuelan man with active felony warrants in Colorado was arrested at the Peace Bridge after he was allegedly found to be driving a stolen vehicle, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced.
Naxer Acevedo Escalona, 32, was wanted out of Colorado for armed robbery and vehicle theft, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said.
It is alleged that Escalona was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima on the Peace Bridge when a primary inspection revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Chicago Police Department.
Further investigation confirmed Escalona’s identity, felony warrants and the status of the stolen vehicle, CBP said.
He was arrested and turned over to the Buffalo Police Department where he is being held awaiting extradition.
