Vanilla Ice, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle rock out at Trump New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago
Nice nice, baby!
#VanillaIce was trending on Monday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, thanks to his New Year’s Eve performance at Mar-a-Lago, the private club of former president Donald Trump.
Trump rang in the new year, watching passively as rapper Vanilla Ice performed on stage, according to videos on Twitter. Joining the ‘90s rapper? A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle — likely Michelangelo since he wore an orange mask — dancing with a mix of karate moves next to the rapper. Trump can be seen in the videos toward the back of the room away from the dance floor as people danced or jumped and cell phones snapped video of Vanilla Ice and Michaelangelo.
But it was another performance Sunday night that had the former president's supporters irate. The rock band Green Day altered the words to a song while appearing on the ABC network's New Year's Eve show "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve," hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
The band sang their 2004 hit "American Idiot" but instead of reciting the line “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda” that band instead sang “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda.”
While Trump supporters raged against the band's performance, those opposing the polls-leading GOP candidate lauded the change in lyrics.

Happy New Year! Trump's New Year's Eve party always an affair to remember. Here are 9 notable past galas
Some on social posted throwback tweets or rewind memories to commemorate ringing in 2024 with an iconic ‘90s rapper.
Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, gained international fame in the 1990s for his hit “Ice Ice Baby” and for appearing in that decade’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” live-action films. In 2023, Vanilla Ice was trending again when the Seth Rogen reboot “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” was released in theaters. His “Ninja Turtle” rap was used in the newest film.
Van Winkle, who lives in South Florida, also gained international fame for starring in HGTV’s “The Vanilla Ice Project” and competing on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Trump hosted his annual New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago, which was often billed “The Southern White House” when he was president because of the time he frequented the club.
Below are videos from Twitter of Vanilla Ice, Trump watching from the crowd and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Happy New Year!

Trump did not offer public remarks ahead of gala, but spoke to the crowd during NYE festivities at Mar-a-Lago
Trump did not offer public remarks along the red carpet outside the ballroom last evening as he customarily does, but he did speak to the crowd that attended the festivities, according to videos posted on social media by those who were there.
He noted 2024 is a pivotal election year and that "we have to secure the vote" in this coming November's election.
Then, to cheers, he added: "We're going to have a great 2024."
Trump also joked that members were scalping tickets to the annual bash for as much as $10,000.
Trump noted the first contest of the GOP primary season lies ahead at the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 15 saying "here we go." He added: "We are going to have a fantastic year. We are going to have a great year. Our country has gone to hell, and we're going to turn it around pretty quickly."

Which Trump family members were at the party?
He explained that spouse Melania Trump's mother, Amalija, is "very ill," a development that was first reported last month, but "hopefully she will be recovering" although the illness is "a tough one." Trump said the former first lady was in Miami where her mother is hospitalized.
"So she sends her love to everybody," he said.
He did say all his children were in attendance except one, who he said went skiing.
"I said, 'Go ahead darling, go skiing, enjoy yourself just don't fall please, don't hurt yourself," Trump quipped to laughs.
Trump didn't name names but presumably he was speaking of eldest daughter Ivanka, who despite living in South Florida has distanced herself from Trump's ongoing political comeback campaign.
Trump's other children are sons Don Jr. Eric and Baron and daughter Tiffany.
