UNM adding back-in parking spaces along Campus Blvd.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico is revamping some of its parking spaces so drivers can back into them. Crews are adding more than 100 angled spaces along Campus Blvd. right next to the dorms.

Work got underway on Thursday. It’s expected to continue through October 15. The university said by backing into the spaces, drivers will have a better view to look for traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists. “I mean, we do have these side sidewalks, but as you mentioned crossing is a little scary. So I’m just hoping its a little more clear to drivers, too, that this is campus and there are students, a bunch of us walking,” said UNM student Lorenzo Cordova.
The project will not significantly interrupt traffic though drivers may need to slow down.
