Two killed in head-on, Northland crash Sunday night
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people are dead after a head-on crash in the Northland Sunday night.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a deadly crash near Northeast 42nd Street and Parvin Road in Kansas City, Missouri at about 8:20 p.m.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a Mitsubishi Outlander had been speeding eastbound on Parvin Road before crossing the double yellow lines and hitting a Ford Transit van head-on.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene, and according to officers, two child passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As for the Ford, all three occupants were taken to a hospital: a driver, an adult passenger, and a child passenger. The crash report said the driver later died from their injuries, and the two other passengers received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 33-year-old woman Christa R. Brodigan. The driver of the Mitsubishi has been identified as 36-year-old woman Amber Rainey.
KCPD said it is unknown why the Mitsubishi crossed into the opposite lanes of traffic, but officers confirmed the crash is currently under investigation.
