Tina Knowles’ Malibu “Sanctuary” Bungalow Destroyed In LA Fires: “We Are Resilient And Will Recover”
The Los Angeles fires have left the homes of countless LA residents in ruins and now in its aftermath, residents are sharing updates about the effects the disaster has had. On Thursday evening (Jan. 9), Tina Knowles shared the sad news that her property in Malibu is now “gone” as she shared a tribute to her “happy place” and some thoughts about the wildfires.
“This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary , my sacred Happy Place . Now it is gone,” the mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles typed in her caption. In the post, she shared a peaceful video she took of three dolphins swimming in the water, capturing the sound of the ocean and the signature serene atmosphere of Malibu.
The 71-year-old shifted her focus to others who have been affected in the travesty and also made sure to thank the firefighters, continuing, “God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions . We Thankyou for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives . This could have been so much worse with out the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders. I’m so sad for the people who lost the five family members. My deepest Prayers are with you !!!!!! To the people who lost their homes and belongings , I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own ! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you ??I cannot imagine the pain and suffering and fear that you are enduring.”
She signed off with a motherly tip, writing, “I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles !! We are resilient though and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass’?? Note : if in LA Please get some air purifiers for your home there is a good one on Amazon for 99 dollars . God be with us !”
Many people showered the Texas native with support. Trina sent her a prayer emoji in the comment section while Yvonne Orji wrote, “So very sorry for your loss.” MJ Harris added, “I’m so sorry to hear this,” and Simone Smith typed, “So sorry Tina. Praying.”
Another celebrity who has shared a devastating update is Jhené Aiko, who revealed her home she lived in with her children had “burned to the ground” with “all of their things inside.” The singer mentioned that she’s thankful she still has her family and is focusing on “starting from scratch.”
This week’s LA fires have officially been ruled as the most destructive in Los Angeles history. As of Friday morning (Jan. 10), the blazes have killed 10 people and scorched more than 55 square miles. This has forced roughly 179,000 to evacuate their homes, per CBS. The largest fire in the Palisades has been contained as of this morning, and the Eaton fire and has been contained as well.
