Timeline: UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect arrested, facing gun charges in PA

Police arrested a man in connection to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson at an Altoona, Pennsylvania McDonald's on Monday.
Luigi Mangione, 26, was charged with murder and other felonies in New York late Monday in relation to the killing. He is concurrently facing weapons and forgery charges in Pennsylvania, according to a criminal complaint and docket sheet viewed by USA TODAY.
During a Monday news conference, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said detectives were traveling to Altoona, about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh, to interview Mangione. Further charges related to Thompson's shooting would be determined by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, according to the chief.
Police recovered bullet casings with the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose” written on them.
Police said handwritten papers found on Mangione "speak to his motivation and mindset." Kenny said the three-page document included no other targets but expressed "ill will toward corporate America."

Thompson is shot at around 6:45 a.m. in Midtown Manhattan outside a hotel where he was set to speak at an investment conference.
The alleged shooter leaves the scene on foot and takes an electric bike into Central Park, according to the NYPD.
The alleged shooter is seen taking a cab at around 7 a.m. on the Upper West Side and at uptown bus station about 45 minutes later, according to police.
Dec. 7
Police say they found a backpack connected to the killing containing a jacket and fake money from a Monopoly game.
Dec. 9
Mangione is seen in Altoona, Pennsylvania by a McDonald's employee who told police they saw him around 9:15 a.m. Mangione was "acting suspiciously" and carrying multiple fraudulent IDs, as well as a U.S. passport, according to the NYPD.
Mangione is arrested and charged in Pennsylvania with:
One count of forgery (grade 2 felony)
One count of carrying a firearm without a license (grade 3 felony)
One count of tampering with records or identification (grade 1 misdemeanor)
One count of possessing instruments of crime (grade 1 misdemeanor)
One count of false identification to law enforcement (grade 3 misdemeanor)
Mangione is charged with murder and four weapons felonies in New York City.
