Texas man extradited to Lockport for rape of child
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Texas man was extradited to Lockport on Friday after an investigation determined that he coerced a minor into sex last August, New York State Police announced.
Javier Vasquez, 22, was arrested for six counts of third-degree rape, four counts of third-degree criminal sex act, two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
It is alleged that on August 2024, Vasquez coerced a girl under the age of 17 into sexual relations with drugs. A possible sex crime out of Lockport was first reported in April 2024 and Vasquez was since found back in Texas.
He was indicted on multiple felonies in Niagara County. He was returned to Texas on an arrest warrant, extradited to Lockport on Saturday, and remanded at the Niagara County Jail.
