Tallahassee's Takko Korean Taqueria Market Square location closed
As local foodies mourn the closure of a handful of dining favorites sprinkled throughout the city, another establishment has added to their grief with news that Takko Korean Taqueria on Market Square is closed for good.
The announcement came from a post on the Takko-Market Square Facebook page Tuesday, May 28, reading: "Thank you for your patronage, Tallahassee! Unfortunately, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to permanently close our Market Square location."
Patrons of the restaurant responded in the comments with sadness but a bittersweet relief knowing that one location still remains.
One fan commented: "Glad to see it's just one location, although sad it had to close - if Tallahassee takes away Takko completely, I'm throwing chairs."
The Korean-themed casual dining restaurant owned by Tomas Lee was popular for a number of Chef Lee's specialties including the fried chicken taco – a combination of double-fried boneless chicken, chipotle aioli sauce, jack cheese and a soy-sesame salad – which was also featured in Good Morning America's “United States of Taco” competition last fall.
The chain restaurant will continue to operate its location in the Magnolia Grove location on South Magnolia Drive, which houses other casual dining spots like Blaze Pizza, Mission BBQ and Which Wich.
