Special Events: MacQueen's Orchard hosts Apple Stir and Crafts Festival
Sep. 30—MacQueen's Orchard, 7605 Garden Rd., Holland, hosts its 39th Apple Stir and Crafts Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The two-day event features live entertainment throughout the entirety of the festival. Saturday's lineup includes GraVity Dance Co., Johnny Rodriguez, and Back 40 Band. Sunday's lineup consists of the Chris Brown Band, Word of Mouth DJ, Benny Roschmann, and Duane Malinowski Polka Band.
An all-American apple pie contest is noon on Saturday. And a variety of family and children activities, including a petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting, will be available on both days. Attendees are also able to pick their own apples during the festival.

—Costume Holiday House in Fremont hosts its Harvest Fest on Friday and Saturday.
The festival runs 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 3038 Hayes Ave., Fremont.
The festival features various fall activities for families, such as pumpkin painting, pumpkin carving contests, and a scarecrow decor competition. Families can also shop for all their Halloween decor and costume needs, using a 20 to 50 percent discount.
Local vendors will be on hand, including Baked Better, Cork and Grape Wine Accessories, and Blessed Handz of Columbus, with chair massages. There will be a raffle to win tickets to the Haunted Hydro Dark Attraction Park located in Fremont.

—A Dog Costume Parade takes over the Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg on Saturday.
Three Dog Bakery sponsors the parade, which winds through the shopping center beginning at 4 p.m., as well as a best in show contest. All well-behaved and leashed dogs and their owners are invited to participate, and costume contest winners will be announced afterward in six categories.

The anniversary party, located at the UpTown store, 2022 Adams St., Toledo, runs from 3 to 7 p.m.
