Serial shoplifter sentenced for series of crimes in 2023
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from Rochester has been sentenced to multiple years in prison for a five-week crime spree in 2023 where he stole nearly $13,000 in merchandise from stores across Western New York, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Jordan Ellison, 55, was sentenced to two to four years in prison.
Ellison stole the products during a spree that lasted from January 2023 to February 2023 on nine different occasions from six different retailers in four jurisdictions across the county.
Ellison was apprehended during the spree and was linked to the other eight shoplifting incidents. The value of the stolen products was put at $12,902.
He pleaded guilty in November to one count of third-degree robbery and eight counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. As part of the court proceedings, he was ordered to sign orders giving away his right and privilege to go to the stores he stole from.
