Serial pooper leaves messes on gravestones, headstones at Northview Cemetery in Dearborn
A Dearborn cemetery has an unwelcome visitor: a serial pooper who relieves himself, or herself, among the headstones and gravesites.
The Dearborn Police Department has been summoned to the Northview Cemetery seven times since the first call came in Feb. 25. That's seven times in just two months.
According to a city spokeswoman, the serial pooper does not go at the same location each time and doesn't have a specific gravesite. It has kept its business off the gravesite of actor George Peppard, who starred with Audrey Heburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." He is buried at the Northview Cemetery.
The cemetery did not return calls for comment. According to corporation records, the Northview Cemetery Co. was incorporated in 1913 and members of the Toms family are listed as its officers: Elizabeth Toms is president, treasurer and a director of the company; Gregory Toms is secretary and director; and James Toms is a director. The cemetery offices list an address on Lexington in Dearborn, off West Outer Drive.
All three Toms list the same mailing address on Bull Run in Fowlerville.

The Dearborn Police Department has no viable leads on the suspected perpetrator, a city spokeswoman told the Free Press.
"The department continues to work on identifying and locating the person responsible," said the spokeswoman, Katie Doyal.

A source familiar with the situation said the pooper wears dark clothing and a hoodie, and leaves a big mess behind, including used toilet paper — and always under the cover of darkness.
So has the police department run a DNA test on the poop? No. The state's caseload of serious crimes comes first, Doyal said she was told Monday by Police Chief Issa Shahin.
