Serial burglar pleads guilty to nearly 20 counts
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A serial burglar pleaded guilty to nearly 20 charges in connection with over a dozen shoplifting incidents across North Buffalo in 2023 and 2024, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Corey Anthony, 36, pleaded guilty to 15 counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of third-degree grand larceny earlier this week.
The thefts took place at several locations across North Buffalo, including two stores on the 2100 block of Elmwood Avenue, a grocery store on the 300 block of Amherst Street, and an auto repair shop on the 400 block of Hertel Avenue.
Serial burglar arrested for 25 different incidents since November 2022
During two of the incidents, one at one of the stores on Elmwood and one at the grocery store on Amherst, Anthony threatened employees with a needle.
He was arrested by Buffalo Police in June 2024. Police added that he has been arrested 123 times since 2006.
