See where the next Aldi store is about to open in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A supermarket chain with nearly 2,400 stores across the U.S. is opening a new shop in central Ohio.
A grand opening is set for an Aldi at Edgehill Road and West Fifth Avenue on Sept. 12, according to the company website. A ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 8:45 a.m. and will follow with the store opening to customers.
Along with celebrating its new opening, the first 100 customers will receive a free eco friendly Aldi bag full of products. The first 100 shoppers will also get a golden ticket that could be worth up to $100 and a free Aldi tote, according to the Aldi website.

The grocery store has been under construction this year and is located in the former spot that housed the offices of Goodwill. The organization bought the property in 2010 and sold it in August 2023.
The shop comes as Aldi announced in March it would add 800 grocery stores by the end of 2028. It’s part of a $9 billion expansion, with plans to add several new locations across the country.
Aldi has also opened new locations in central Ohio within the last couple of years. This includes its store at 9895 Johnstown Rd. and 5455 N. High St., which both opened to customers in 2022.
