Heavy rainfall has resulted in severe flooding across New Jersey Tuesday, with several areas reporting significant precipitation totals.

Here are some of the rain inch counts by town according to Bob Ziff of the North Jersey Weather Observers and the National Weather Service. More rain is on the way though so look for higher totals as the week progresses.

  • Cherry Hill: 3.65 inches

  • Basking Ridge: 3.65 inches

  • Mount Arlington: 3.42 inches

  • Madison: 3.34 inches

  • Chatham: 3.33 inches

  • Ramsey: 3.30 inches

  • Little Falls: 3.13 inches

  • Whippany: 2.69 inches

  • Harrison: 2.53 inches

  • Linden: 2.51 inches

  • New Brunswick: 2.47 inches

  • Montville: 2.44 inches

  • Lyndhurst: 2.13 inches

  • Randolph: 2.04 inches

  • North Haledon: 1.94 inches

  • Bergenfield: 1.62 inches

The heavy downpour has led to substantial flooding, particularly in the Teterboro area along Route 46, causing disruptions and posing significant challenges for residents and commuters.

Emergency services are on high alert, and officials urge residents to exercise caution and stay updated on weather advisories.
