Sean 'Diddy' Combs hit with 5 new sexual assault claims, including from a 13-year-old
Five new Sean "Diddy" Combs accusers, including a then-13-year-old girl, have filed civil suits against the embroiled music mogul.
The five new accusers include two John Does and three Jane Does, with assault claims from as far back as 2000 and as recently as 2022. One of the women claims she was assaulted at 13 years old while attending an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in September 2000 by a 30-year-old Combs and an unnamed male celebrity while an unnamed female celebrity watched.
The lawsuits against Combs, 54, were filed in a New York federal court on Sunday by the Buzbee Law Firm and others, as part of the 120 alleged victims the firm announced would file suits against the producer earlier this month. Last week, the same firms filed six initial civil suits against Combs.
The other accusers include a businessman allegedly assaulted by Combs at a Ciroc promotional party in 2022, a personal trainer who claims Combs assaulted him at an award show after-party around that same year and a woman who said she was assaulted by Combs at a Las Vegas party on Memorial Day weekend 2014.
One of the suits, filed by a female independent rapper-producer said to have been assaulted by Combs in 2022, was dismissed by a judge on Monday for failure to file as a miscellaneous case, which is required for anonymous cases in the federal New York court. In response, the law firm refiled the woman's lawsuit, attorney Tony Buzbee confirmed to USA TODAY on Wednesday. It is unclear whether the other civil cases against Combs would be affected.
USA TODAY has reached out to the Buzbee Law Firm for comment.
Combs was known for hosting over-the-top, star-studded parties that cemented him as a Hollywood power player in the entertainment industry. But yet again, another set of civil plaintiffs say the parties were the backdrop for something far more sinister.
The Sunday filings follow another previously reported suit, filed last week, from a former college student who alleged Combs assaulted her after a Da Band promotional photoshoot in 2004 when she was 19 years old.
In response to the latest civil suits, Combs' reps shared with USA TODAY late Sunday the same statement from the previous lawsuits filed by the Buzbee firm, claiming that the firm's press conference and use of a 1-800 hotline is proof it is trying to "garner publicity" and that Combs "has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman."
This new wave of legal action follows Combs' September arrest and subsequent arraignment for sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution charges; he has pleaded not guilty and is set to face a criminal trial May 5. The rapper, who has maintained his innocence amid an avalanche of civil lawsuits filed over the past year alleging decades of sexual and physical abuse, remains in custody at the Special Housing Unit at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.
Diddy VMAs after-party is where he allegedly raped 13-year-old girl
One Jane Doe accused Combs of assaulting her when she was a minor at an MTV VMAs after-party in September 2000.
According to her lawsuit, she was attempting to get into the award show when she met Combs' limousine driver, who allegedly told her the record label founder "liked younger girls" and that she "fit what Diddy was looking for." She claims the driver told her to return later in the night, and when she did, she was taken to an after-party at a home, presumably belonging to Combs. She was then instructed to sign a non-disclosure agreement, the lawsuit states.
The Jane Doe said she accepted one "bitter" drink when she began to feel woozy and claims she was drugged. She claims she entered an empty bedroom to lie down when Combs and two unnamed celebrities entered. She claims Combs told her she was "ready to party" and threw her toward the male celebrity, who removed her clothes and held her down as he raped her while Combs and the female celebrity watched. Then Combs raped her while the male and female celebrity looked on.
Combs allegedly tried to force the girl to perform oral sex on him, but after the girl hit him, he stopped. The girl grabbed her clothes, eventually found an exit and left for a gas station, where she called her father and confessed her whereabouts.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs sexually assaulted personal trainer, lawsuit alleges
A celebrity personal trainer alleges that in 2022, he was assaulted at an award show's after-party.
He said his fashion designer client introduced him to Combs after claiming the rapper was "impressed" by his "regime." The designer then invited the trainer to an unspecified award show after-party in Los Angeles in June 2022.
Combs hosted a BET Awards after-party after his lifetime achievement award in June of that year.
Upon arrival at the party, he said he was instructed to sign an NDA. The trainer said he received a drink from one of Combs' associates and later was brought to a smaller room at the party lit with red lights. He claims he observed several individuals, including unnamed celebrities, immersed in group sex.
He began to feel dizzy, and soon Combs approached him, removed his pants and began to perform "non-consensual oral sex" on him, he alleges. He then was instructed to perform oral sex on another male celebrity, he claims.
The trainer said he was drugged, which caused an inability to refuse and made him feel "trapped inside of his own body." He eventually went "in and out of consciousness" while the other guests passed him "around like a party favor for their sexual enjoyment." When he regained consciousness, he said he found himself outside his apartment without a shirt or phone.
Ciroc party: Diddy allegedly sexually assaulted businessman; celebrity guests seen in lawsuit photos
One John Doe claims Combs sexually assaulted him at a Ciroc promotional party in 2022.
The businessman, who owns a company specializing in renting luxury cars and jewelry, claims he had an ongoing business relationship with Combs.
Combs invited the man to the party personally, he said. Combs and his celebrity party guests, whose faces are redacted, are seen in photos shared in the lawsuit.
The man claims Combs soon beckoned him into his "private office" when the man noticed a drunk Combs "acting strangely," according to the suit. The Revolt TV founder then exposed himself to the man, the business owner claims, and grabbed his genitals through his pants. The assault only stopped when an unnamed professional athlete entered and intervened, he said. He then immediately left the party and returned home.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs allegedly raped woman at Las Vegas Memorial Day party in 2014
In another lawsuit, an unnamed woman alleged Combs raped her in Las Vegas in 2014.
The woman said in the lawsuit that while she was visiting Vegas on Memorial Day weekend that year, a man who worked as a party promoter for Combs invited her to an exclusive celebrity party at a poolside lounge. She said she was introduced to Combs there, and the party promoter invited her to an after-party at the rapper's hotel suite.
At this after-party, the woman alleged Combs directed her to drink vodka from a bar area with numerous open bottles, and after having one or two drinks, she began to feel "nauseated and dizzy, slowly losing control of her motor functions." The party promoter allegedly told the woman to lie down in an empty bedroom until she felt better.
The woman said the next thing she remembers is waking up the following morning feeling "groggy and sore" and seeing Combs shirtless in the corner of the room, yelling at someone over the phone.
"He was the only person in the room with her and it was clear that someone else had been in the bed with her," the lawsuit alleged, adding, "Plaintiff eventually got up and realized she was naked and her general soreness was more aggravated in her genital area. Plaintiff was horrified to realize that she was raped by Combs."
Female rapper-producer accuses Diddy of drugging, raping her at NYC party
A lawsuit in which Combs is also alleged to have assaulted an independent rapper, producer and songwriter in 2022 has been revived in court after the suit was dismissed by a New York judge.
Judge Lorna Schofield dismissed the lawsuit on Monday, citing a Southern District of New York rule requiring cases filed under a pseudonym be filed as a miscellaneous case unless the suing party has received explicit permission from the court. The case was subsequently refiled by the Buzbee Law Firm on Tuesday.
The woman claimed she attended one of Combs' parties in New York City. She said she saw "widespread use of drugs, including cocaine, pills and marijuana," which she was offered but said she refused.
She was later approached by Combs, who she claimed "expressed interest in her work," and invited her into his office. She noted she drank a single glass of wine earlier and, after she began to feel disoriented, realized she was drugged, according to the suit. She claimed she was raped and sexually assaulted by Combs and could not resist him due to her state.
She later went out of consciousness, she said, later waking up at 6 a.m. in the same office. She found she was bleeding, had bruising on her lips and "deep imprints" on her wrists and arms, thought to be from being tied up, she claimed. In fear, she said, she found a set of clothes that were not hers and left the residence.
