School won't let out until Memorial Day weekend in Brevard, but graduations start mid May
While school doesn't officially end until right before Memorial Day for most Brevard students, graduation ceremonies start in the middle of the month.
The last day of school for Brevard Public Schools students is May 24, though teachers will continue to work until the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Graduations, however, are set to take place from Friday, May 17, through the following Saturday.
Graduations are ticketed events, with each high school determining how many tickets will be made available based on the size of the graduating class and the ceremony's venue, according to Russell Bruhn, spokesperson for the district.
These are when commencement ceremonies are scheduled throughout the county:
Friday, May 17
Florida Preparatory Academy: 10 a.m. at Gleason Performing Arts Center
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy: 6 p.m. at the John Moran Sports Complex
Saturday, May 18
Odyssey Charter Jr./Sr. High School: 10 a.m. in the school gym
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy: 7 p.m. at Kelly Stadium
Monday, May 20
Astronaut High School: 7 p.m. at Storey-Taylor Stadium
Bayside High School: 7 p.m. at Bayside Stadium
Eau Gallie High School: 7 p.m. at the King Center
Satellite High School: 7 p.m. at Satellite Stadium
Tuesday, May 21
Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School: 6 p.m. at the school's courtyard
Heritage High School: 7 p.m. at Heritage Stadium
Merritt Island High School: 7 p.m. at Merritt Island Stadium
Rockledge High School: 6 p.m. at McLarty Stadium
Titusville High School: 7 p.m. at Al Werneke Stadium
