Sarah Hyland Wore Pants to the Emmys as If It Was No Big Deal

Sarah Hyland made an early case for Emmys best dressed, arriving on the red carpet in a dramatic strapless top and black pants, as opposed to a more de rigueur gown. The Modern Family actress paired the dark trousers and an epic top from Monique Lhuillier with a giant split train covered in floral embroidery.

It’s always refreshing to see something a bit different for the Emmys, and Hyland certainly gave us a unique moment tonight in this getup.

Hyland’s not the first to make a bold move in pants. At the Emmys last year, Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka wore a similar ensemble by Dior Couture from Raf Simons’s Fall 2012 collection. Emma Watson’s also a fan of the style – she turned heads at the 2016 Met Gala in a Calvin Klein top and trousers – made from recycled plastic bottles, no less.
