Rylan has revealed he had to send his passport off to get back on dating app Hinge after being kicked off.

The TV star tried to dip his toe back into the dating pool after splitting from his husband Dan Neal in 2021. But it seems that his bid to find love again hasn’t been without its problems.

He opened up about it on ITV’s This Morning, after celeb guest Teri Hatcher shared how she had been mistakenly kicked off Hinge because they thought she was somebody pretending to be her. Rylan said he’d had a similar experience, exclaiming: “I had to send me passport somewhere to put me back on!”

The presenter was hosting the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show alongside Josie Gibson and brought up the issue as they interviewed the Desperate Housewives star.

“There is something that we share in common Teri Hatcher,” he said. “We have both been kicked off Hinge. People thinking we are catfishing.”

“The world of dating, especially when you are someone who people recognise, can be quite difficult,” he said. “But you go on the apps, but you got kicked off because someone thought you were catfishing.”

Rylan and Hatcher commiserated about their experiences, describing how they logged on one day to discover that they had been booted off the app and had no idea what had happened.

“I was like, sorry what have I done?” laughed Rylan. “I had to send me passport somewhere to put me back on!”

“I still had no luck, to be honest,” he joked.

Rylan also shared how he is a huge fan of Hatcher's huge TV series Desperate Housewives and joked that that he “nearly got arrested” when he tried to find the set of the twisty comedy during one visit to the US.

He explained: “I was in Universal City about 10 years ago, I had some meetings out there. And I knew that the Desperate Housewives set was somewhere. I got escorted by security out… I nearly got arrested!”

Desperate Housewives aired from 2004 until 2012, and was a huge hit. With many fans keen for another visit to Wisteria Lane, Rylan and Gibson quizzed Hatcher about whether it was a possibility, either as another TV series or as a film.

But she replied: “It’s just not in my hands, it’s really not in my hands."

"I do recognise that that would be an amazing thing for the fans," added the star.
