Rocket launches in Florida: Here's an updating list of all 2024 Space Coast missions

This year, officials expect Florida's Space Coast — home of NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station — to break the freshly established 2023 annual record of 72 orbital rocket launches, with SpaceX's workhorse Falcon 9 accounting for most of the missions.

Following is the list of 2024 launches thus far from Cape Canaveral:

1. SpaceX Ovzon-3 satellite

An Ovzon-3 communications satellite launched from a SpaceX Falcon 9 at 6:04 p.m. Jan. 3 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

2. SpaceX Starlink 6-35

SpaceX launched a batch of Starlink internet-beaming satellites aboard a Falcon 9 at 5:35 p.m. Jan. 7 from CCSFS Launch Complex 40. Note: Liftoff occurred just eight hours and 43 minutes before the historic United Launch Alliance Vulcan launch.

United Launch Alliance's next-generation Vulcan rocket flew its first certification mission at 2:18 a.m. Jan. 8 from KSC pad 39A.

4. SpaceX Starlink 6-37

SpaceX launched a batch of Starlink internet-beaming satellites aboard a Falcon 9 at 8:52 p.m. Jan. 14 from CCSFS Launch Complex 40.

5. SpaceX-Axiom Space Ax-3 crewed mission

Axiom Space sent its third crew of private astronauts to the International Space Station aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule and Falcon 9 at 4:49 p.m. Jan. 18 from KSC pad 39A.

6. SpaceX Starlink 6-38

SpaceX launched another batch of 23 Starlink internet-beaming satellites aboard a Falcon 9 — with the rocket's first-stage booster notching its 18th mission — at 8:10 p.m. Jan. 28 from KSC pad 39A.

7. SpaceX-NASA NG-20 resupply mission

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lofted a Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft to the International Space Station for the first time on a 12:07 p.m. Jan. 30 NASA resupply mission from CCSFS Launch Complex 40.

8. SpaceX-NASA PACE spacecraft

NASA's PACE spacecraft, which will study Earth's oceans and atmosphere, launched at 1:33 a.m. Feb. 8 atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from CCSFS Launch Complex 40.

9. SpaceX USSF-124

On Valentine's Day, SpaceX launched the Space Force's USSF-124 national security mission at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 14 from Launch Complex 40 at CCSFS.

10. SpaceX-Intuitive Machines IM-1

The Intuitive Machines moon lander, Odysseus, launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at 1:05 a.m. Feb. 15 from pad 39A at KSC as part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services program.

11. SpaceX Merah Putih 2

12. SpaceX Starlink 6-39

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 40 at CCSFS, lifting a series of 24 Starlink internet-beaming satellites into low-Earth orbit at 5:06 p.m. Feb. 25.

13. SpaceX Starlink 6-40

14. NASA's SpaceX Crew-8

After high offshore winds and waves along Dragon Endeavour's flight path prompted crews to postpone two Crew-8 launch attempts, their SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket hurtled off pad 39A at 10:53 p.m. March 3 at KSC.

Kicking off a Florida-California SpaceX launch doubleheader, a Falcon 9 rocket vaulted off the pad at 7:05 p.m. March 10 on another Starlink satellite mission from Launch Complex 40 at CCSFS.

17. SpaceX Starlink 6-44

The twice-scrubbed Starlink 6-44 mission hurtled into the darkness off pad 39A at KSC at 8:21 p.m. March 15, deploying another payload of 23 broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit.

18. NASA's SpaceX CRS-30

A SpaceX Falcon 9 carried a SpaceX Dragon capsule loaded with more than 6,000 pounds of cargo at 4:55 p.m. March 22 from Launch Complex 40 at CCSFS en route to rendezvous with the International Space Station.

19. SpaceX Starlink 6-42

After a series of storm cells packing lightning swept past the Cape — triggering a three-hour, 40-minute launch delay — SpaceX finally launched a Falcon 9 rocket near the tail end of the mission's launch window at 11:09 p.m. March 23 from KSC pad 39A.

20. SpaceX Starlink 6-46

22. SpaceX Starlink 6-45

Three hours and 38 minutes after the Eutelsat 36D launch, SpaceX sent another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit with a launch from CCSFS Launch Complex 40 at 9:30 p.m. March 30.

Two hours before sunrise, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket illuminated the predawn darkness during a Friday morning liftoff at 5:12 a.m. April 5 from CCSFS Launch Complex 40.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket delivered another 23 Starlink broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit, lifting off at 5:26 p.m. April 17 from KSC pad 39A and adding to the company's ever-expanding global constellation.

29. SpaceX Starlink 6-52

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket delivered another 23 Starlink broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit, lifting off at 6:40 p.m. on April 18 from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. This was the second launch in just over 24 hours.

37. SpaceX Starlink 6-59

A SpaceX Falcon 9 lifted off Friday, May 17 at 8:32 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex - 40. The timing of the sunset launch created a "jellyfish" effect in the sky. The booster saw its 21st launch and landing.

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams soared into the history books by taking Boeing's Starliner spacecraft on its maiden crewed mission at 10:52 a.m. June 5, lifting off from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket.

44. SpaceX Starlink 10-1

45. SpaceX - Astra 1P/SES-24

After two days of weather delays, SpaceX launched German TV satellite Astra 1P/SES-24 at 5:35 p.m. EDT on June 20 from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. This launch ended an almost two week launch drought.

46. SpaceX Starlink 10-2

After a rare T-0 abort on June 14, this mission finally got off the launch pad two-weeks after plan ? flying into the clouds at 1:15 p.m. EDT on June 23. The rocket had been removed off the launch pad, allowing Astra 1P/SES-24 to fly ahead. Statistics released by SpaceX show the Falcon 9 booster was switched out for this launch.

47. SpaceX Falcon Heavy - GOES-U

A Falcon Heavy launched the latest satellite from NOAA - GOES-U. Directed by NASA for operation by NOAA, this is the latest and last of the GOES-R series of weather satellites. GOES-U will monitor the weather of the western hemisphere, as well as monitor solar activity.

48. SpaceX Starlink 10-3

A SpaceX Falcon 9 launched on the Starlink 10-3 mission at 7:14 a.m. June 27, less than an hour after a brilliant orange sunrise at Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

49. SpaceX Starlink 8-9

A SpaceX Falcon 9 boosted 20 Starlink satellites into obit, before putting on an early morning light show. The Falcon 9 rocket took to the pre-dawn sky at 4:55 p.m. on July 3 from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40.

50. SpaceX Türksat 6A

After five delays amid stormy summertime weather, SpaceX launched the Türksat 6A communications satellite atop a Falcon 9 at 7:30 p.m. July 8 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

After a two-week FAA grounding, SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket fleet return to flight amid an ongoing investigation when a 1:45 a.m. July 27 Starlink mission launched from pad 39A at KSC.

54. SpaceX Starlink 10-6

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying its latest group of Starlink satellites at 1:01 a.m. on Friday, August 2.

Despite weather conditions not forecasted to be favorable, SpaceX was able to launch NASA's NG-21 resupply mission ahead of Tropical Storm Debby. Liftoff occurred at 11:02 a.m. on August 4 from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40.

59. SpaceX Starlink 10-5

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted 22 Starlink internet satellites to orbit at 9:20 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 20 from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. On top of it being election day in Florida, this marked the first flight for this specific first stage booster.

60. SpaceX Starlink 8-6

62. SpaceX Starlink 8-11

64. SpaceX AST SpaceMobile BlueBird 1-5

Dozens of AST SpaceMobile executives and shareholders gathered at the Apollo/Saturn V Center to watch a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch at 4:52 a.m. Sept. 12 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, lifting the company's first five BlueBird communications satellites into low-Earth orbit for future testing.
