Summit paving now set to begin next week
Paving on Peach Street in Summit Township will begin May 28.
Work originally had been scheduled to begin in mid-May.
The road will be paved between Rotunda Drive, near Target, and Oliver Road, near Splash Lagoon.
Most of the work will be done at night when traffic is lighter. Drivers can expect lane closures and flaggers controlling traffic between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings.
The $2.6 million project will include traffic signal and drainage upgrades. Work is expected to be finished in September.
Bargain Road bridge
McKEAN — The Bargain Road bridge over Interstate 90 in McKean Township will be closed for construction beginning in mid-May.
Traffic will be detoured onto Hershey Road, Route 99 and Grubb Road.
The bridge deck and portions of the road leading to the bridge will be resurfaced. The $763,516 project also will include minor structural repairs.
Work is expected to be completed in September.
The bridge was built in 1959 and is crossed by about 750 vehicles daily, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
