Any Way The Wind Blows teaser

Both gray and yellow versions

After Kevin turned in this gorgeous artwork, designer Olga Grlic and I talked a lot about what the background color should be and how it would affect the tone of the announcement. (This art was created specifically to announce the sequel and title. It won’t be the the cover of the book.)

In the end, we went with gray to match the tone of Simon’s mood moving from Wayward Son to Any Way the Wind Blows. The gravity of his position.

It was a dramatic choice for us, because Olga and I are usually drawn to bright colors for my books. We kept saying – “Are we really doing GRAY?”
