Princess Anne Hospitalized After Incident at Her Home
Princess Anne is currently spending a little time in the hospital after suffering "minor injuries and concussion" during an incident that occurred on Sunday evening at her Gatcombe Park estate.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement, via BBC, that Anne was transported to the hospital from her home in Gloucestershire and "remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery."
"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery," the official statement went on.
When the injury occurred, Anne was reportedly outside on her estate grounds. Her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and their two children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, were at Anne's Gatcombe Park home when she was injured.
Hello! reported that Anne's medical team said "her head injuries are consistent with a potential impact from a horse's head or legs," although the cause of her injury has not been officially confirmed.
Anne's husband accompanied her to the hospital, where she is allegedly "recovering well," with a spokesperson telling the publication that the 73-year-old's extended stay in the hospital is "a precautionary measure for further observation."
Before her injury and visit to the hospital, Anne was spotted enjoying the Royal Ascot with other royal family members like King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William. Anne's son Peter attended with his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling, while the princess' daughter Zara was there with husband Mike Tindall.
Many other royals were also in attendance, such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
