FOX4 Forecast: Cooler for Labor Day
Oakwood Drive residents didn’t imagine hearing a plane crash would be part of their Labor Day plans.
“It’s usually calm. We were really surprised,” Rhonda Daughtery, a neighbor near the crash site said Monday.
“We were sleeping this morning, and my granddaughter was like “what’s that sound?”
Daughtery went on to explain how the surrounding community acted to make sure everything was okay.
“We take care of each other,” she said.
The plane landed in Ashlynn Meyer Huffmaster’s front yard, she was shocked when she heard the landing.
“I heard this really loud noise,” she explained.
“I look out the front window right here and I see a plane and I think well my neighbor doesn’t really fly planes.”
The incident could have been much worse, and Huffmaster says she’s thankful no one was seriously hurt.
