Pink shames troll who compared her to Suzy Eddie Izzard and promotes self-esteem
The So What singer responded to a message on social media wishing her Happy Birthday, alongside a picture of the transgender comedian.
Pink has hit back at a social media troll who compared her to Suzy Eddie Izzard in a bid to promote self-esteem to her children.
The singer - who celebrated her 44th birthday on 8 September - shared a message on social media platform X [formerly Twitter] in which an anonymous user wished her Happy Birthday, alongside a picture of transgender comedian Izzard.
P!NK told the X user: "Thank you so much. I just showed my 12 year old daughter your post. I explained to her that I’ve never met you, I don’t know you, and I have no idea why you would go out of your way to be hateful. It was a good lesson in ignorance. Thank you. I still don’t know you. Congrats. You’re no one."

She added: "MOST IMPORTANTLY - what a wasted opportunity here. There are so many pictures you could’ve chosen that were actually me that were worse than this picture, you nameless f**ko. At least be creative next time dum dum."
Thank you so much.

The So What singer went on: "I post these things to show the kids I know - my own kids as well, that we are all occasionally treated badly. I show them because they know me, and they know that my self-esteem does Not rely on the opinions of others. Nor does it rely on how many tickets I sell. Good/bad. Whatever. I love Me. Now I shall Sleep really really Well. Night night."
Yahoo UK has contacted Izzard for comment.
Pink - real name Alecia Beth Moore - is mother to 12-year-old daughter Willow and six-year-old son Jameson with motocross racer Cary Hart, who she married in 2006.
The singer has previously spoken about raising her children gender neutral.
She made an impassioned speech about self-acceptance during her speech at the VMAs in 2017, when she revealed her shock that her daughter told her she thought of herself as ugly because she looked like "a boy with long hair".
Pink revealed she made her daughter a slideshow, filled with images of musical icons famous for their androgyny, from Prince to David Bowie, from Annie Lennox to Janis Joplin.
She said: "Artists that live their truth. Are probably made fun of every day of their lives, and carry on, and wave their flag, and inspire the rest of us."
She asked her daughter 'When people make fun of me . . . do you see me growing my hair? 'No, mama.' Do you see me changing my body? 'No mama.' Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world? 'Yes, mama.'"
She continued: "So, baby, girl. We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl."
Izzard, 61, has been openly transgender since 1985 but in December 2020 announced she wanted to be "based in girl mode from now on".
