New Orleans police identify suspect in fatal 2014 shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Investigators with the New Orleans Police Department’s cold case unit have identified a suspect in a 2014 homicide investigation.
On Jan. 9, 2014, the NOPD reported that officers responded to the 4500 block of South Robertson Street, where they found 30-year-old Michael Young suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Sept. 16, NOPD detectives said they obtained a warrant for the arrest of 33-year-old Gordon Lewis on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the investigation.
NOPD officials said Lewis “was found to be in Louisiana Department of Corrections custody in DeQuincy, La on unrelated charges.”

He will be extradited to Orleans Parish, where he will face the second-degree murder charge.
