'One hell of a fighter': North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper praises Harris at DNC
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper spoke on the final night of the Democratic National Convention, taking the last speaking spot before Kamala Harris formally accepted the party's nomination.
"America, we got a lot of big fights ahead of us and we've got one hell of a fighter ready to take them on," Cooper said.
Cooper framed Harris' campaign as a fight, pointing to her history as a prosecutor and as California Attorney General. Cooper closed the run-up to Harris' speech by rallying delegates from the swing states.
"I want the American people to know, even if you don't agree with her on everything, Kamala Harris will fight for you until the very end," Cooper said.
North Carolina could prove to be a pivotal state in November as recent polling shows that Harris narrowed Republican nominee Donald Trump's lead in the state to two points since taking over the top of the Democratic ticket.
