Olean man pleads guilty to attempted receipt of child pornography
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Olean man pleaded guilty to attempted receipt of child pornography and admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor female victim, the United States Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Officials said between September 2021 and July 2022, 48-year-old Greg Hirliman engaged in sexual communications through Facebook with the minor victim. Hirliman also made several requests for naked images and photos from the victim.
On the one occasion he engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim, he knew she was a minor, officials said. The attorney’s office said Hirliman was not charged with this, but he admitted to it as a part of his plea.
The charge of attempted receipt of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.
Hirliman’s sentencing is scheduled for July 21, 2025.
