NOPD investigates three Friday evening shootings
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating three unrelated shootings that occurred in the evening hours of Friday, Sept. 13.
The first shooting occurred around 3:56 p.m. near the intersection of Loyola Avenue and Toledano Street.
TPSO seeks man who allegedly shot relative multiple times
The NOPD reports that the victim was sitting in his vehicle when another man approached the driver’s side door. The victim reportedly tried to purchase marijuana and, while reaching into his pocket for his wallet, the other man pulled a firearm.
An argument reportedly ensued, leading to the victim trying to back away in his vehicle, prompting the suspect to fire his weapon, hitting the victim, who then managed to drive himself to a local hospital to be treated.
The second shooting occurred around 8:27 p.m. in the 2400 block of Dryades Street, at the intersection with Second Street.
According to the NOPD, the victim and suspect had gotten into an argument, which then led to the suspect pulling a gun and shooting the victim multiple times.
The victim was then taken to a local hospital by New Orleans EMS.
NOPD seeks man in Delgado Community College aggravated assault case
The third shooting occurred around 10:57 p.m. in the 3300 block of Morrice Duncan Drive.
Police say the victim and his brother were walking around in the area when they heard multiple gunshots. The victim then realized that he had been shot before going home, where he called for emergency services and was taken to the hospital.
