Nick’s Place to close Amherst Street location
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The original Nick’s Place will soon be closing its doors after 30 years of being in business.
In a post on Facebook, Nick Ananiadis, son of owner Peter Ananiadis, said the restaurant at 504 Amherst St. will be closing its doors on Feb. 22 due to an unforeseen rent increase.
“My dad has worked 7 days week for as long as I can remember,” Nick said in the post. “Both him and Amy Ananiadis built this business from the ground up and have provided for me and my sister. This was my culinary school and provided me with more life lessons than any book could ever teach me.”
Mister Sizzle’s to close current, future locations by end of month
Peter will be retiring sometime this month, according to another post made by Nick.
Nick’s Place serves breakfast, brunch and lunch with special attention to Greek and American food. It boasts 4.1 stars out of 5 with 143 reviews on Yelp.
Nick’s Place Express at 2466 Elmwood Ave., owned by Nick Ananiadis, will remain open.
Its hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Sunday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
